- Streamlined hiring and rehiring processes for campus graduate associates and semester lecturers, minimizing effort for retaining talent with existing university affiliations.
- Improved procurement efficiency by automating purchase order adjustments for item substitutions and supplier-identified issues, reducing exceptions.
- Developed a position-tracking framework for large-scale initiatives, starting with the new Inpatient Tower project.
- Simplified the management of unfilled positions by removing the requirement for default compensation details, saving administrative time.
- Expanded the ability to recover overdue payments by creating customizable collection letter templates, with AI-enabled messaging updates for efficiency.

January 2025 to June 2025
- Snap-and-send receipts. Travelers can now take a photo of a receipt—or email it—and Workday’s built-in AI automatically turns it into an expense entry, cutting paperwork and reimbursement time.
- Easier job changes. The “change job” screen has been enhanced: it now shows an employee’s current details while you work, hides fields you don’t need, and guides you step-by-step to reduce errors.
- Smarter software buying. The pilot of a new pre-approval check was completed to ensure every software purchase meets risk and accessibility standards before dollars are spent—preventing duplicate requests and saving time.
- Absence at a glance. A redesigned absence calendar lets employees request time off and managers approve it in just a few clicks, with everyone seeing the full team schedule up front.
- Integrated sponsor collections. Collecting payments from grant sponsors now happens entirely inside Workday, giving finance teams one clear and timely process.
- Reducing administrative work. For same-day surgeries and procedures, a Workday-connected app lets suppliers start supply orders themselves—reducing administrative time for Health System staff.
- Simpler grad and lecturer hires. We’ve trimmed steps when hiring and adding additional jobs for graduate associates and semester lecturers, helping departments onboard talented instructors quickly and easily.
- Enhanced payroll accounting changes. Updated the payroll accounting adjustments process to make it easier and more accurate.
