Accomplishments

July 2024 to December 2024

  • Began developing a software directory for users to view available software applications at Ohio State.
  • Began creating a streamlined software intake form, integrated with Workday, to improve purchasing processes.
  • Established a Software Oversight Committee with university-wide representation to review software spending, consolidate vendor licenses, and negotiate better pricing.
  • Refining purchasing process and revised security and accessibility review for improvement and alignment
  • Collected metrics on the current purchasing process to evaluate improvements and identify opportunities for further operational excellence. 

January 2025 to June 2025

  • We’re continuing to expand the university’s software directory, working toward a centralized “one-stop shop” where faculty, staff, and students can easily find and access the software available to them. 
  • We developed and successfully piloted a new Software Preapproval Process with several departments across the university and Wexner Medical Center. This new intake form helps streamline software requests and make the purchasing process faster and more consistent. 
  • A new strategy for digital accessibility has been created, setting up a process that will shorten the time it takes to approve and purchase software—helping ensure our community gets the tools they need more quickly and efficiently.
